6 days Road Trip to Thailand  Itinerary

Day 1: Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Angthong – Sukhothai

07.00 Pick up from your Bangkok hotel and drive to Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya had consecutively been a prosperous kingdom for 417 years. There had been 33 kings who reined the kingdom over that period, beginning with King Uthong in 1893 B.E. The kingdom glorious time ended when it succumbed to Burmese troops on 7th April 1767, concluding 5 dynasties that used to rein the kingdom of Ayutthaya.

Visit the city in ruins at Wat Prasisan phet, is three outstanding Ceylonese style pagodas were built during the 15th century to enshrine the ashes of three Ayutthaya kings which houses a large bronze cast Buddha image was originally enshrined in the open area outside the Grand Palace and later covered by a building in the reign of king Songtham. After that continue to visit Wat Yai Chaimongkol, is a magnificent ancient royal monastery, more than a mere place of worship.

Before lunch time, visit Wat Chai Wattanaram, is the temple represents the victory of King Prasart tong over Cambodia King. The beautiful temple was built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong on a bank of the Chao Pra Ya River without standing towers which are called as Prang in Thai. Then enjoy your lunch time at local restaurant.

In the afternoon trip, drive from Ayutthaya to Angthong to visit Wat Muang: The ubosoth of Wat Muang is surrounded by the biggest lotus petals in the world. Within the temple compound, there are figures of heaven and hell, Thai god paradise, Chinese god paradise and a huge statue of the female bodhisattva Kuan Im. Then transfer you to Sukhothai for tomorrow trip.

Day 2: Sukhothai – Srisatchanalai – Phrae – Nan

Depart for Sukhothai Historical Park, whose remains have been classified as World Heritage of Humanity. This magnificent site is easily accessible by bike, this is how we suggest you to visit. Visit Sukhothai national museum, historical park and Wat Sri Chum and Wat Srisawai.

After lunch time, drive to Phrae to visit Phae Muang Phi National Park, is noted for its incredible rock formations. Muang Phi means “City of Ghosts” in Thai. These amazing natural sculptures take the form of mushrooms, pillars and cliffs and were formed by subsidence and soil erosion. Local people believe the area to be haunted. Legend has it that a villager found gold in the area but was prevented from leaving by the Guardian Spirit. Then drive straight to Nan to stay overnight.

Day 3: Nan :Salt mine Salt mine – city tour – Noble House 

Nan was a free state which was occupied by Lanna Kingdom and Burmese from time to time. In 1931 Nan become fully integrated into Thailand. Today, Nan is still a very rural and remote area which natural sight. 07.00 Today, the day’s program begins outside Nan Province (3 hours drive)Visit Mined salt which is almost 700 years and it was fascinating to watch an activity that is still done exactly the traditional way. Located in the heart of the village at Bo Kuran District and next to the river it is just amazing to have salt mines in mountains so far above sea level.

Drive back to city this afternoon to visit small house which is called Nan Noble House. Nan Noble House is one of the only old teak homes in Nan–other towns may have these homes. It is over 200 years old and belonged to one of the last lords of Nan. The house is still decorated with artifacts, and the lower level has a lovely exhibition on local weaving.

Continue to the beautiful temple of Wat Phu Min, is typically the first temple to visit in the City of Nan. Wat Phumin combines the functions of a viharn and ubosoth in one building. The wat is unusually designed with a cruciform layout with entrances facing four directions. Monasteries are, very beautiful wood carving doors placed in the four directions, made by the Lanna Thai artisans: and mural paintings painted on the internal wall of the Vihara displaying ways of lives and cultures of the past.

If time permit, visit The Thai Lu people living at Ban Nong Bua are noted or producing the traditional tribal fabric, an art handed down from generation to generation.

Day 4: Nan – Payao- Chiang Rai

8.00 am Leave hotel Departure by van for 2 hours and stop at Phayao to visit the largest natural lake in Thailand and the Karen village. We arrive in Chiang Rai noon. Drive to visit the world famous Golden Triangle, where the borders of three countries meet – Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Then, visit the Hall of Opium – an insightful.

Trip from Bangkok to Chiang rai , it can take one day or 13 hours drive, but we take 4 day so we can stop and see thing on the way.

Day 5 : Chiang Rai Sightseeing – Chiang mai

Visit Wat Rong Khun, then free afternoon for rest or your personal exploration. Then drive straight to the Baan Yapa Hilltribe Village where you have a chance to visit Long-necked Karen Tribe, Lahu Tribe, Pa Long Hill-Tribe, Akha and Yao Hill Tribe.Continue trip to Chiang mai. After arrival Chiang mai. Drive up Doi (Mount) Suthep to visit Wat Phrathad Doi Suthep(A.D.1384) 3500 feet above sea-level, the most sacred temple in Northern Thailand, containing a holy relic of Lord Buddha, with a challenging flight of over 300 steps, flanked by enormous mythological Nagas. A panoramic view of the city can be seen from here at 3,500 feet above sea-level. Then visit Wat Jed Yod (A.D.1455) with its seven-spire stupa; and Wat Suan Dok where the ashes of Chiang Mai’s royal family are interred. Lunch at local restaurant.

Day 6 : Chiang Mai

After breakfast, head out on an excursion to visit an elephant working site located at Mea Taman, Chiang Dao District, approximately 70km from Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, visit the elephant working camp and see the talent show from Elephants. Next, enjoy an exciting trek on an elephant back around camp through the jungle and along the river. Also have a chance to walk around the Lisu village in the jungle and see some product that made in their village. Lunch is on site at the camp.

Afterwards, board bamboo rafts along a very picturesque stretch of the Mea Ping River to see the beautiful scenery down the river. The rafting lasts about an hour but depends on the depth. Later , transfer to airport for your next destination.
