Tina interview : Chiang Mai private tour guide
1. Please introduce yourself
I was born in Chiang Rai and grew up in Chiang Mai. Studying in English major and Tourism Business Management minor in Chiang Mai University made me have much more tourism knowledge. In addition, I can speak five languages such as English, Italian, Spanish, French and Thai. I can get along with people in different ages easily. I am flexible.
2. Why have you chosen to become a tour guide?
I am so proud of the Northern culture, history, local people, so I would like to present what the Northern region has and share my knowledge about many cultures to foreigners.
3. What are some of the places you like to visit?
Ancient temples and historical parks in Thailand and neighbor countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia are places where I like to visit. They have scents of ancients and rich histories. At the same time, I gained knowledge when I was traveling there. I also like to see where local people live and how they earn for living.
4. What do you do during your free time?
I like to watch daily Thai and foreign news to update myself, so I will know what is going in each country. When my clients talked about news, I was able to respond to them. Also, planting is my hobby.
5. What complements do you get most from your customers?
Outstanding. They said that I understood what they wanted.
6. Tell us about your impressions of your trips or anything related to your clients
There is a lot of impression during the trip. They liked my typical Northern costumes such as Sarong (long skirt), Cins and indigo. On the next day, they bought them. I was happy that they liked the Northern style costumes. They helped our local people and their economy.
7. What do you tell tourists to visit in the Northern of Thailand?
I would like you to try deliciously authentic Thai food and especially Khantok (typical Northern food). If you doubt what ingredients are and how to cook, I highly recommend you to take a cooking class. Also, riding an elephant through dense jungle is fun to do. For those who would like to purify your mind and escape from a busy life, doing meditation in a peaceful Buddhist temple may help you feel better. Monks teach you in English. Welcome to the North of Thailand. I will show around Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and beyond.
