FAQs
Q: Is the weather very cold up there?
A: Because of the high altitude, Doi Tung is noticeably cooler than Chiang Rai city. We recommend bringing a light sweater or pashmina, especially in the morning or during the winter months (Nov–Feb).
Q: Is there much walking involved?
A: The Mae Fah Luang Garden features beautifully paved paths, but there are some inclines and steps. However, the pace is entirely yours to set, and there are many shaded spots to sit and enjoy the view.
Q: Can we see the "Doi Tung Tree Top Walk"?
A: Yes! If you are feeling adventurous, we can include time for the Tree Top Walk (canopy walkway). It is a thrilling way to see the forest from a different perspective (additional ticket required on-site).
Q: Is there a dress code for the Royal Villa?
A: Since the Villa and the Temple are sacred and royal sites, please wear modest clothing (shoulders and knees covered).
