3 days Northern Thailand tour from Chiang mai to Pai and Mae Hong Son : Itinerary

Day 1: Chiang Mai – Mae Sa Elephant Camp – Pai (-/L/D)

08:00 Pick up from a Chiang Mai Hotel
Drive Mae Sa Elephant Camp to watch an Elephant’s bathing as well as the demonstration under the command of their mahouts of how talent and intelligent they are by hauling & dragging logs, playing soccer & games, massaging, and painting such a beautiful abstract, flowers or trees.

Continue the trip to a local market at Mae Malai. Lunch at the local restaurant. Continue to a Lisu hill tribe village. Among all minority groups in this country, the Lisu is the most distinctive tribe by both the exotic bright colors of their traditional costumes and also by the way they are. Go on travelling to Pai, passing and mesmerizing emerald green forests, hills and valleys.

Day 2: Pai – Long Necked Hill – Mae Hong Sorn (B/L/D)

08:00 After breakfast at the resort, leave for Tam Lod, the largest cave in Mae Hong Sorn. Enjoy exploring around the wonders of the interior by feet as well as a small bamboo raft pull by a strong guy as the trip’s leader as well. Drive to Fish Cave National Park, where thousands of Carps are found and considered as sacred frolic in their natural habitat. Further to Mae Hong Sorn, the land of three mists as well as a home of various ethnic groups mainly emigrated from Myanmar.

Lunch at a restaurant in the city. Take 45 minutes boat trip along the Pai River to the “Padong Long-Necked” hill tribe village at Nam Pieng Din. The womenfolk wear brass rings around their necks & limbs and customarily a ring needed to be added every year. Transfer to the Golden Pai Resort for dinner &overnight.

Day 3: Mae Hong Sorn – City Tour – Flight (B/L/-)

07:00 Transfer to Mae Hong Sorn Fresh Morning Market. Back to have breakfast at the hotel and check out. Continue to revere four splendid Myanmese style temples; Wat Jongkam, Wat Jongklang, Wat Hua Wiengand Wat Doi Kong Moo for a panoramic view of Mae Hong Sorn and the countryside surrounding. Lunch will be served at a restaurant the city. Transfer to the airport to catch the afternoon flight back to Chiang mai or return to Chiang mai by road.
